It has entered into a partnership with Red Sea Global (RSG), the driving force behind the amazing regenerative tourism resorts, The Red Sea and AMAALA. The partnership is under Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030. ABB will be providing over 1,200 electric vehicle charging infrastructure (EVCI) solutions. This is no run-of-the-mill project; it's the largest E - mobility project in the Kingdom and one of the largest in the Middle East too.

The EVCI Solutions Offered by ABB

ABB is going whole hog for this tie-up. It will be offering a full portfolio of AC (Alternating Current) and DC (Direct Current) chargers. These chargers will be installed at 13 locations in The Red Sea and AMAALA sites. This is infrastructure designed to serve the charging needs of the Red Sea and AMAALA fleets, as well as cars of visitors. In addition, ABB is taking it a step further by locally manufacturing EV charging pedestals in Saudi Arabia under its local content initiative.

Importance of Safety and Efficiency in EVCI

These pedestals are not ordinary. They are equipped with RCBs (Residual Current Breakers) and MCBs (Miniature Circuit Breakers). This equipment is significant as it ensures maximum safety, reliability, and efficiency. By the end of this year, Red Sea Global will open 19 more resorts in total in The Red Sea and AMAALA. With ABB's support, it will expand its charging network to tenfold.
